Flicks International Student Short Film Festival 2017
Date: 15, 16 and 17 March
Location: Cultureel Studentencentrum USVA
Welcome fellow film enthusiasts and filmmakers!
We want to begin by telling you something about our initiative,
Flicks is a film festival, which stems from the Cultural Student Centre USVA in Groningen, that gives national and international student filmmakers the opportunity to participate in a challenging and fun initiative by sending in their short films for our loved film festival. The requirements for your films are that they should not be longer than 20 minutes and need to have been produced after December 2015. The committee will carefully select the best movies, which will be screened at our festival in March 2017! There is no specific theme for the film’s topic. After the selection of films, done by the committee, the organization will accordingly organize the 3 day film event based on the genre of the films. During the festival there will be a jury consisting of one professional filmmaker or film professor, one film student and one person in an unrelated profession. At the end of the festival the jury will choose the winner of all three days
The aim is to make students aware of what other students can achieve and display the perspective of seeing the world based on other cultural backgrounds. The unique part of Flicks is that it is a cultural event that is organized by and for international students.
We are looking forward to this year’s festival and we look forward to your film submissions! Visit this page to participate.
